Back To School Newsletter

Good afternoon Parents and Guardians,

General Information:

The start of school is just around the corner, and I am excited about the new school year. Both schools have new principals this year, and I am working on continuing to grow the TAG program. Please, check out the TAG offerings this year. This document is a draft of all the offerings and timelines for each. I will continue to clarify each one until the beginning of the school year. (TAG Offerings-2022)

Also, check out the Resources page. I will be adding the syllabus/description for each TAG offering. There will also be general information about East/West Middle School TAG.

KYA is happening this year. We will be attending Middle School 1 from November 6th-9th. The cost is $260 per student, and we will have fundraisers to help offset the cost. Three ideas for the fall fundraisers include a community yard sale, a fall festival, and a pumpkin run. If you are interested in helping with fundraisers, please let me know.

Tips for Parents

I will add informational articles from gifted and talented resources. This month is an article from Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth β€˜Is my kid gifted?’: Four common (but misunderstood) traits of highly advanced learners.

Please let me know what resources you might want to work with your child. I will try to add those topics to the monthly newsletter.

Other Information:

Newsletters will post around the 15th of the month. I will send out an email and a Remind letting you know that the newsletter has been published.

I am creating a parent email group. You should receive an email saying you have been added to the group within the next week.
